Try this family Christmas tradition from Seton’s Simple Pleasures for the Holidays: The Kindness Box
“Leading up to the holidays, we have a kindness box. We wrap up a shoebox like a present and cut a slot in the top. We put the box and a pencil and some paper under the tree. When someone in the family notices someone being kind, we write the act down on a piece of paper and put it in the box. (Young children could draw a picture or tell mom what they saw and ask her to write it down.) On Christmas Eve, along with reading a beautiful picture book of the Christmas story, we open the box and read all the notes.”
